Library of the Faculty of Education, Charles University

Library provides library, information, consulting and reprographic services for all its registered users (i.e students, teachers, staff of all CU faculties and professional public), as well as assistance for students with special needs, digitization of textbooks included.

We offer you the following library and information services:

1.

Circular services: in-house loans, home loans, inter-library loan service, and international inter-library loan services.

2.

Electronic services: services available through the library web pages, electronic communication with the users, electronic document delivery, access rights to electronic informational resources on the Internet.

3.

Informational and consulting services: reference and consulting services, information retrieval, scientific-informational, specific, counselling, promotional, and other services.

4.

Study room: computers with internet connection, where you can browse digital resources, and print documents. Also, you can use a copy machine or scanner.

Loans

Thematic profile of the library consists of the pedagogical sciences, special pedagogy, school pedagogy and psychology as well as other accredited fields of study taught in the faculty.

To become a registered user, it is necessary to own a Charles University identification card and to fill in a paper registration form at the loans desk (for free).

Library manages in-house and outside loans, the most of the collections are located without free access to shelves (stock holdings), documents are delivered by librarians on request – location code listed in the catalogue is necessary.

Some of the collections are located in depositories and loans are realized on request in advance and are distributed on the next day.

Open-shelf collections (free access) are located in the reading rooms. In-house loans can be read only in the reading/study rooms, outside loans may be kept for 1 month (regular loans) or for 1 week (short-term loans) and can be prolonged via the online catalogue. Reservations can be made via the online catalogue on books borrowed at the moment only.
