10.11.2025 – Library at M. Rettigové 4 closed from 1 December 2025 due to renovation

We are expanding and improving our spaces for studying and meeting.

Please make sure to borrow all the books you will need in time – the last day for borrowing is Friday, 28 November 2025.

During the closure:

• all loans due during this period will be automatically extended until 4 May 2026,
• books can be returned at any time via the return box next to the porter’s lodge,
• borrowing (including through reservation boxes) will not be possible,
• the study room in Celetná 13 will remain open as usual.

05.11.2025 – Trial access to psychological databases

Until 02.12.2025, Charles University has a trial access to the following databases: the APA PsycBooks and APA PsycTests databases from the American Psychological Association; they provide extensive scholarly resources in psychology. PsycBooks includes over 4,600 titles, featuring reference works and classic texts. PsycTests offers thousands of psychological assessments, measurement tools, and surveys with detailed methodology and validity data.

29.10.2025 – Lean Library – browser extension for easy access to e-resources

Try the new Lean Library browser extension that helps you access licensed electronic information resources (EIZ) of Charles University. The extension automatically detects if the university has access to a requested article or e-book and offers login through EZproxy or another available route. It can also point you to legal open-access versions or printed copies available at CU libraries.

Lean Library works both on and off campus, for example when searching via Google Scholar or directly on publishers’ websites.

Available for browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Opera, and Safari.
